Socktober
Hills and Valleys Nonprofit Organization’s Community Connections Program is dedicated to fostering strong relationships and building a sense of belonging within our community. We organize events and initiatives that unite people, promote awareness, and provide essential support to those in need.
Socktober
Socktober is an initiative aimed at supporting the homeless population, who often walk miles each day with little more than threadbare socks.
Recognizing the critical need for warm, durable socks, we collect and distribute new pairs to those in need.
This simple yet impactful act of kindness helps provide comfort and protection, making a meaningful difference in the daily lives of the homeless.
Through our Community Connections program, we are committed to creating opportunities for connection, support, and positive change. Join us in strengthening our community, one event and one act of kindness at a time.
Hello Winners!
It’s ‘Socktober’ in Ottawa, Canada’s Capital City. Did you know that socks are one of the most requested items at homeless shelters?
Well, now that you all know that this is a big request, don’t just hear and walk away, get involved!
Many homeless people walk miles per day in order to survive, leaving their socks threadbare and damp. So, a new pair of warm socks is definitely a must-have item.
Hills and Valleys NonProfit Organization, Tammy Services Corporation – @hillsandvalleysinc, @destinationwin26 are collaborating to raise 1,000 socks during the month of October. We will be distributing the socks to the homeless community within the Ottawa area during the month of November 2020.
Please join us by donating a pair or two of socks or volunteering with this initiative.
Thanks in advance for your support!
